Ingredients for Chana Daal Recipe:

1 & 1/2 cup Split Chickpeas (Boild & Soaked)

2-3 tbsp oil

1 large Onion

1 tsp Whole spices

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

2 large tomato

3-4 green chilies

1-2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric

1 tsp coriander powder

Salt to taste

Water as required

1/2 tsp Garam masala

Tarka ingredients:

1/4 cup Oil

1 tsp Cumin

6-8 Curry leaves

1/4 tsp Mustard seeds

Directions for Chana Daal Recipe :

In a pan heat oil, add whole spices, ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.

Add onion, green chilies and cook for 2-3 minutes on high flame.

Add tomatoes, cook for 2 minutes.

Add salt, turmeric, red chili, coriander powder and cook for 2 minutes. Add water to mix it well.

Add boiled Split chickpea and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add water and cover the lid, let it cook for 6-8 minutes on medium flame.

Turn off the flame.

Add garam masla and cover with the lid.

In a pan heat oil, add cumin, curry leaves, mustard leaves and pour it over the cooked Daal.

Preparation Time:10 minutes

Cooking Time:30-35 minutes

Serve:5-6 persons
